Is this the same organisation that ran the site in 1999?

No. The original publisher wound this project down in 2002 and continues today as a separate company under a different name, with no involvement in this site. This is an independent rebuild that restores the archive to its original addresses.

Why do the URLs end in .html?

Because those are the addresses the material was published at, and links from that era still point to them. Changing them would break those links for no benefit. The old URL is the canonical URL here.

Why are the outbound links not clickable?

They point to 1999 web addresses and nearly all of them are dead. The anchor text is kept so the sentences still read correctly, but rendering hundreds of broken links on every page would be worse than useless.

Some old URLs return "410 Gone" instead of a page. Why?

Between 2005 and 2008, and again in 2021–22, this domain was used for adult content, advertising doorway pages and injected spam. Those URLs return 410 deliberately — it tells search engines the pages are intentionally gone, and it avoids passing anything those pages collected into this site.

Can I reuse the archive material?

The May–December 1999 entries are reproduced here as the historical record of this domain. If you want to quote them, please link back to the page you took them from.
